Blanket Distribution Among the Cold-Stricken in the Remote Char Areas of the Jamuna River

A blanket distribution program for cold-stricken people was held on Thursday (11 December) at 10:00 am at the Shushua Welfare Association grounds in the remote char areas of the Jamuna River in Tangail. With funding from Shushua Ville, 300 high-quality double-layer blankets were distributed among poor families in Shushua and the surrounding villages. Earlier, another 300 blankets were distributed in various parts of Gopalpur Upazila, bringing the total number of blankets distributed to 600.


The event was attended by Md. Mominur Rahman, President of the Shushua Welfare Association; former Arjuna Union Parishad members A. Majid and Obaidullah; and Abdul Khalek, Member Secretary of the Arjuna Union Jubo Dal, along with other local dignitaries.


The overall coordination of the initiative was overseen by Shushua Ville’s founder, USA expatriate Masum Mahbubur Rahman, and co-founder Eliza Sultana, along with organization officials Maleeha Mahbub, Ariba Mahbub, and Ahnaf Mahbub.


Local residents said that receiving blankets during this period of intense cold brought much relief to impoverished families. The organizers expressed hope that such humanitarian initiatives would continue in the future.,
